17 Dead As Tractor Falls Into Musi Canal

Yadadri: In gory accident, a tractor lost control and fell into Musi canal killing 17 persons. The incident occurred at 11 am today in Lakshmapuram near Valigonda in Yadadri district. All the 17 dead are said to be women.

The tractor driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

It is learnt that the tractor was transporting woman labourers to their work place and there were around 20 of them traveling in it. It is said there were children also along with the women and their whereabouts it is yet to be ascertained.

The villagers rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. More details of the incident are awaited.
