Conman Arrested for Duping Women with Fake ID on Matrimonial Websites

Hyderabad: Police on Saturday arrested notorious conman K. Venkat Ratna Reddy, 40, of cheating women of several lakhs of rupees using fake ID on matrimonial websites.
According to the police officials, Ratna Reddy posted his fake ID on matrimonial websites. Based on those details when an NRI woman contacted him, he married her and shifted to the US. However, within 20 days he managed to flee with 30,000 US dollars of her money and returned to India. A native of Guntur, he was also involved in a bank robbery, immoral trafficking and multiple thefts. According to the police, Ratna Reddy also cheated a film producer pretending to be an IRS officer.

However, his luck ran out when the NRI woman contacted her relatives in Hyderabad who inturn filed a police complaint. During investigations, police discovered that he was involved in several crimes and there were over eight cases booked against him various police stations of Hyderabad and Guntur. They nabbed him from his native district of Guntur. Investigations are also underway to find out how he procured a visa despite the criminal cases.
Police said that after graduation, Ratna Reddy failed to procure a job. He, then, joined a couple of friends and started a construction business where he did not succeed. In order to make a quick buck, he registered with matrimonial websites and conned women. He also worked as a pimp for sometime, they said.
