Check to KCR? DS rushes to Delhi on Sonia’s invitation - Sakshi Post

Senior Congress leader and former PCC chief Dharmapuri Srinivas on Tuesday was air-dashed to New Delhi on the invitation from the Congress party high command. His sudden visit to Delhi gave vent for speculation that he might be chosen as PCC chief replacing Botsa Satyanarayana. Recent developments created ripples in the Congress party after TRS chief KCR gave a call to Telangana leaders to join his party to step up the movement.

Several MPs lined up and Mandha Jagannadham, MP from Nagarkurnool inclined to join TRS. Though Rashid Alvi, AICC spokesperson made a statement that anybody could join any party as it was a constitutional right for the leaders, sent a negative signal to those who wished to cross the road.

In the event of latest political development, D Srinivas, popularly known as DS, reached Delhi in the evening and is likely to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi and in-charge of AP affairs Gulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday itself. He may explain the KCR’s offer to Congress T MPs and their reactions. Out of seven MPs four of them signaled positively to the offer. If the UPA government wished to continue till the end of its full term, the Congress leadership should not allow a single member of the Parliament to leave the party.

The analysts observe that TRS chief KCR made a strategic move at the hour of crisis by inviting Telangana Congress MPs. DS is believed to be the right choice to convince the T MPs from taking extreme step of joining TRS at this crucial juncture. Unless and until he was given some powers, the Congress MPs may not care his mediation. So, it is imminent to empower DS to complete the task. What will be the next step of AICC leaderships to bring a fruitful end to the crisis depends on the intelligence of Sonia Gandhi and her son and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, say the analysts.
