Chandrababu Ignoring NGT Guidelines in Amaravati

Amaravati: Environmentalist Mannarayana alleged that Chandrababu Naidu's government was ignoring the guidelines issued by National Green Tribunal (NGT) in regards to building the state capital.

In a press conference here today, the environmentalist mentioned that the state government was asked not to destroy the water bodies for building the capital city and accused that the government was going completely against the instructions. He alleged that over 10 lakes have been destroyed by laying roads to the capital city. Mannarayana said that he would approach NGT on the destruction of the lakes in the capital region.

A farmer, Tata Babu accused that despite not having given his land, the authorities were forcibly constructing roads over his farm. He said that the government was trying to take away his land, and he was determined not to part with it at any cost. He alleged that the government was doing real estate business with farmers' land and went on to say that he would complain to President of the country on this matter.
