Campaigning ends in Telangana

Campaigning has ended at 6 pm on Monday for the elections in Telangana region on April 30. The polling will also take place on the same date in seven states and two union territories across the country.

The elections will take place in 89 Lok Sabha seats on April 30. The elections will be held on the same date in 17 Lok Sabha and 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana.

“All the candidates have to stop campaigning after 6 pm on Monday. Strict action will be taken against those candidates who violate the rule, “said Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anurag Sarma. He said that they are making security arrangements with the help of 37 companies of central forces.

The commissioner said that they had identified about 107 sensitive polling stations and took steps accordingly.

Election commission informed that the candidates could move the court if there were any complaints on the wrong information filed by candidates in their election affidavits. It took the decision after it received some complaints on the same.
