Basava Tarakam Hospital Physiotherapist Commits Suicide Over Sexual Harassment By Doctor  

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman committed suicide on Thursday after she was sexually harassed by a doctor at Basava Tarakam Cancer Hospital where she worked.

Mungi Anusha, a native of Gajuwaka in Vishakapatnam was working as a physiotherapist in Basava Tarakam Cancer Hospital in Banjara Hills here. She completed her MBBS in Vijayanagaram and joined the hospital a few months ago. She was staying at a hostel in Madhapur along with her colleagues. She took the extreme step on Thursday night after her colleagues were out.

The reasons for her extreme step is believed to be the harassment by a doctor in the hospital. She is reported to have shared her ordeal with the colleagues. The doctor was allegedly forcing her to satisfy his sexual desire.

Feeling depressed on the harassment she hanged herself to the ceiling fan in her hostel room.

Police sent the body for post-mortem. They registered a case and the investigation is on.
