Ayyanna Patrudu Slams Chandranna Kanuka, Says It’s A Wastage

See who's criticising Chandrababu Naidu's Chandranna Kanuka scheme? His own cabinet colleague Ch Ayyanna Patrudu feels that Chandrababu's scheme to gift subsidised rice and other essential commodities during festive seasons is a collosal waste.

Taking part in the Maa Ooru programme organised as part of the fourth phase of Janma Bhoomi programme in Marripalem village of Natavaram mandal in Visakhapatnam district, he said such schemes have temporary effect and therefore are wasteful exercises. The Chandranna Kanuka scheme has been allocated a staggering Rs 950 crore.

Ayyanna Patrudu said permanent schemes like Polavaram were more important than the palliatives being doled out in the name of the Chandranna Kanuka scheme. He said he had broached the issue with the chief minister himself and admitted that there were several problems in the implementation at the grassroots level.
