AP To Cut Power Supply To Telangana Over Pending Dues

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government issued notices to Andhra Pradesh Genco to stop power supply to Telangana until it clears Rs4,480 crore pending power bill. The AP Genco officials are gearing up to stop the power supply on the notices issued.

According to a senior official of AP Power Generation Corporation, they have written a letter to the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre (SRLDC) informing their decision of stopping power supply to Telangana.

Telangana gets over 400mw power from Andhra Pradesh on a daily basis. "We wrote a letter to the Telangana government that we will not be able to supply power unless they clear the dues. Andhra Pradesh has to pay about Rs1,400 crore to Singareni Collieries. We will adjust that amount or any other dues from our side, from Telangana pending bills. We informed the SRLDC of the decision of stopping power supply to Telangana." an official from the AP Genco Said.
