Three Maoists From Vishakapatnam Killed In Encounter - Sakshi Post

Three maoists including two women were killed in an encounter at Visakhapatnam’s agency area on Sunday afternoon. This incident took place at Gummirevulu village in Gudem Kotha Veedhi mandal, in the Andhra-Odisha border.

According to reports, maoists led by woman leader Aruna, came somewhere the Madigamallu area to conduct a meeting. Police who came to know about this information rushed to the area. Maoists who noticed the police started firing. This erupted retaliation from the police and the officers fired some shots killing three maoists on the spots. Several others managed an escape into the forest with severe injuries.

Combing operations were being carried out at the Andhra-Odisha border by the police officers as the Maoists from Communist Party of India had organised a week-long anniversary celebration to mark the 15th formation day of the outfit on September 21.

After the encounter, police identified dead bodies and released details of three maoists and the main accused had been identified as Aruna alias Venkataravi Chaitanya.

Superintendent of Police (Visakhapatnam Rural) Attada Babujee said that special police forces and the central reserve police force intensified combing in the Agency areas after the encounter.
