Police Probe Applications For Deletion Of Voters in Nellore

Nellore: Several cases were filed on Monday against different persons who applied for deletion of votes in bulk in Atmakur, Sarvepalli and Sullurpeta Assembly segments. This was directed by the district election officer and collector, Nellore district, R Muthyala Raju.

Tahsildars of Atmakur and Marripadu in Atmakur Assembly constituency, Podalakur in Sarvepalli segment, Ozili, Pellakur and Naidupeta in Sullurpeta Assembly segment had contacted police station’s station house officers to book cases against many individuals who applied for deletion of votes.

These applications are coming in Form-7, sent to delete 1,117 voters from 28 individuals on February 26 and 28 in Pellakur Mandal.

In a similar instance, applications have been put forth to delete 327 voters from Ozili Mandal.

Application have been made online more than three to six times to remove votes of particular persons in Marripadu mandal.

Naidupeta Mandal also has seen similar applications for removal of 1,302 names from the voters' list. This came from 23 people. Interestingly these applications have all been made either on February 26 or 28th

Police have started an investigation to initiate action against the culprits.
