Chandrababu Threatens University Students, Police Arrest 6

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Tirupati: "Don't be silly. Be careful. Aren't you receiving the Rs 1,000 unemployment allowance," said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu threatening the youth who demanded implementation of poll promises. In a 'Pedarikam Pai Gelupu' program at the SV Veterinary University here on Thursday, Chandrababu was questioned over his 2014 promises while he was speaking on the occasion.

The students began making slogans of 'We want justice' and holding placards at the program. They said, "We believed in your promise of 'Babu Vasthe Jobu Vastundi'. Only your son is employed now, after you came to power," they said to Chandrababu.

Reacting to the students' protest, the TDP chief said he released notifications for the highest posts in the country. "I have filled the DSC posts despite all other governments ignoring them. Aren't you taking the unemployment allowance? Be careful. You people lack discipline," he added.

When the students retaliated and condemned his threats, Chandrababu said it wasn't fair on their part to question the government. Questioned on his statements over filling of just 2 SGTs posts while there were over 50,000 aspirants, the AP CM found fault with the question saying they lacked discipline.

Following this, the police arrested arrested six of the students who were raising slogans.
