Galla Jayadev Parroted YS Jagan’s Words in Lok Sabha Debate

TDP MP Galla Jayadev - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: It was indeed surprising to see TDP MP Galla Jayadev parroting the words of YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's words during the no-confidence debate in Lok Sabha on Friday. The YSRCP chief had been saying the same all along over the last three years in the state legislative assembly.

YS Jagan had told the assembly that the Centre was cheating the state with regard to Special Category Status (SCS) to AP.

If we observe the speech of Galla, it is clear that he was repeating what YSRCP had been saying over the years. YS Jagan has been relentlessly fighting against the Central government demanding SCS to Andhra Pradesh and also demanding that it fulfill all the promises made as part of the AP Reorganisation Act. Even Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at a press conference objected to Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointing out to 14th Finance Commission suggestion to deny SCS to AP.

In September 2015, YS Jagan criticised the TDP government for not pressurising the Central government to accord SCS to AP and also highlighted the way Centre had betrayed the 5 crore people of AP. During that time the YSRCP Chief reminded the words of 14th Finance Commission Chairman YV Reddy saying the commission had never objected to SCS and was also never against SCS to AP. Even the commission member Abhijit Sen had written a letter mentioning that they had never objected to SCS. Yet another member also confirmed this.

All these were brought to the notice of legislative assembly three years ago by Leader of Opposition. YS Jagan, at that time, had criticised the AP CM for claiming that Special package was much better than SCS. After three years, Galla Jayadev repeats the same words in the Parliament that YS Jagan spoke in the assembly three years ago.
