Sri Gowthami Murder: Police Arrest Driver, Key Accused

Palakollu, West Godavari: The Palakollu police has made further progress in the sensational Srigowthami murder case. One of the key accused, Lakshmana Rao, a driver was taken into custody and is to be produced in court today.

During the course of the probe the police concluded that he was with the accused at the time of the murder. The other accused were arrested by the cops on June 26.

The police have come to the conclusion that with Lakshmana Rao, the total number of accused has now gone up to eight. Sandeep and Durga Prasad, who are currently out on bail, are reported to have used a Tata Safari in the murder, according to the police.

They have submitted a petition in the court stating that the bail given to the accused should be cancelled. Earlier, the police had registered a case of accidental death, but on further investigation by the CBCID it was established that Srigowthami had been murdered and a case was registered under sections 302 and 307 of IPC.
