Corrupt Contractors Barred, But Polavaram Works Will Continue: Anil Kumar Yadav - Sakshi Post

Nellore: Clarifying that the State government had only cancelled the existing contractors to cut down on corruption, Minister of Water Resources Anil Kumar Yadav asserted that the construction of Polavaram would begin from November with new contractors in place and to complete the project by 2021 as per schedule.

Speaking to press persons here on Saturday, Yadav cleared the air amidst the reports emerging that works pertaining to the project had been stalled. He pointed out that the new contractors would be brought on board only in view to curtail corruption and to make the process transparent.

According to a report submitted by a committee over the irregularities in the Polavaram project, the State government had already issued notices to Navayuga and B- Chem to exit from the construction works.
