Mangalagiri YSRCP Candidate RK Protests Against EVM Glitches

Alla Ramakrishna Reddy sat on a protest along with voters - Sakshi Post

Guntur: YSR Congress Party assembly candidate from Mangalagiri, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy sat on a protest along with voters over glitches in EVMs which delayed the polling process. He expressed his displeasure at the Election Commission for their indifferent attitude on the malfunctioning of EVMs in his constituency. Popularly known as RK, Ramakrishna Reddy expressed his dissatisfaction at polling not starting for hours after the scheduled hour.

RK expressed dismay at the fact that several voters had gone back after waiting for a long time for the voting to begin. RK further said that the election officials did not provide proper replies to him on the issue of defective EVMs. He said that about 60 EVMs developed glitches in Mangalagiri and that the EC officials were indifferent on the subject. RK expressed his doubts on why EVMs which had worked earlier during mock polling failed to function later.

RK remarked that it was mainly in YSRCP dominated areas that EVMs developed snags and this led to doubts that this happened on account at the prospect of imminent defeat of Nara Lokesh, the TDP candidate. Several voters joined RK in expressing their protest.
