AP DGP Thakur Biased Towards TDP: Kanna Lakshminarayana

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party leaders filed a complaint with the Election Commission that the Director General of Police (DGP) had been acting in favour of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP). BJP AP president Kanna Lakshminarayana, MP GVL Narasimha Rao and MLC PVN Madhav alleged that AP DGP RP Thakur was taking the side of TDP, which could be a hindrance in conducting free and fair elections in Andhra Pradesh.

BJP leaders alleged that officials in the top echelons had taken sides and that is why sensitive data regarding AP citizens had been leaked. They pointed out that with the data breach scam, TDP had put the people of AP in a vulnerable position and gained unlawful access to the personal data like Aadhar numbers and linked bank accounts, photographs of all voters from the master voter database of Election Commission, social mapping and political choices of voters by government-sponsored surveys.

They raised a suspicion that TDP's deleting the votes of people in support of opposition parties seems a well laid out plan and alleged that almost 18,00,000 voter names had been deleted from the lists. To cover it up, they have added back almost the same number of voters into the list till January 2019 as per the number of voters present in 2014.

They added that the removal of votes process began after Smart Pulse Survey conducted by the TDP Government in 2016 to segregate voters based upon their voting choices.
