PD Accounts Scam Much Bigger Than Bihar’s Fodder Scam: GVL

BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao on Saturday wrote a letter to Andhra Pradesh governor ESL Narasimham saying that the PD accounts scam was much bigger than the fodder scam of Bihar. He recalled how the governor of Bihar had taken an initiative and conducted probe into the fodder scam which put the former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in jail.

GVL demanded that governor initiate similar action in the PD accounts scam and safeguard the public money from being looted by the ruling TDP leaders. CAG audit and CBI probe was to be ordered in PD accounts that was maintained by AP government, he observed. He said it was an organised loot of public money at all levels.

Mentioning the CAG report of 2016-17, the BJP leader said that the state government had blocked the scrutiny of Rs 51,448 crore. He pointed out that the government had parked this amount in 58539 PD accounts across the state. He alleged that the heads of the department who operate these accounts were issuing self-cheques or cheques in the name of bank managers and withdrawing money.

GVL urged governor Narasimhan to bring all those responsible for PD accounts scam to justice.
