ACB Nets Big Fish: Raids Vijayawada Commercial Tax Officer’s House 

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials raided the house of Vijayawada's Commercial Tax Officer G Lakshmi Prasad and unearthed around Rs 50 crores worth of disproportionate assets and properties today.

According to ACB officials, the raids were conducted at his residence in Patamata in Vijayawada and 20 other properties across the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well at his second wife's residence in Hyderabad. The raids started at around 6 am today.

Earlier, Lakshmi Prasad was an Officer of Special Duty for AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishunudu and was promoted as Commercial Tax Officer for Vijayawada division when GST came into force from July last year. The accused had purchased independent houses, flats, residential plots and lands in Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Guntur, Srikakulam and Guntur.

The ACB officials have also found a locker key in his residence and have seized properties worth around Rs Four crores. They mentioned more details about his wealth will be revealed after interrogation. It is also said that Lakshmi Prasad is presently undergoing cancer treatment.
