Here are the key takeaways from Railway minister Sadananda Gowda's maiden railway budget presented in Parliament on Tuesday. (Railway budget: What has it for AP, Telangana?)

* If and when the Cabinet okays, FDI would be allowed into the railways. However, operations are exempt.

*  Trains will move faster. If one goes by Gowda's claims, the speed of trains will go up from 160 to 200 km per hour in nine select sectors

*  India will soon have bullet train. A bullet train proposed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad sector

* Modi Government will launch diamond quadrilateral of high speed trains.

* E- procurement will be make compulsory for  procurements over Rs 25 lakh

* This fiscal, the Government will spend Rs 65,450 crore on the railways. The government expects total investment of Rs 6005 crore through PPPs

*  4,000 women RPF constables would be recruited for women's coaches

* Branded pre-cooked ready-to-eat meals would be made available on trains and stations. 

*  Wi-Fi services would be available in all A1 stations; All trains to be Wi-Fi enabled
