4 Girls Jump Into Well After Failing In Examinations

As many as four girl students ended their lives by jumping into a well. The incident, which occurred in Panapakkam of Nemili taluq in Arakkonam division has sent shock waves in the region. The students resorted to the extreme act after they fared badly in the first year intermediate examinations and were afraid that their parents would reprimand them.

According to the police, Plus One students Deepa, Manisha, Sankari and Revathi had failed in the monthly tests in the the Government Higher Secondary School in Panapakkam. The teachers asked them to bring along their parents to the school. The girls were worried that their parents would reprimand them. The girls decided to end their lives. They went to Ramapuram village and jumped into a 60-feet-deep well on Friday. Worried teachers, parents and classmates searched for them on Friday night and found their bicycles near the well. Their bodies were later fished out from the well and were sent to Wallaja hospital.
