2 Killed, 7 Injured Gang Rivalry In Madhurapudi

As many as two persons died and seven others were injured when members of a gang attacked their rivals over a long pending land dispute near Madhurapudi village of Korukonda mandal in East Godavari. The incident occurred on Thursday night

There is a land dispute between gang leaders Madha Ravi and Ambati Ramash for a long time and in this connection they had filed complaints against each other in local police station. Police had earlier settled the issue between the two groups. Last night, Ramash and his group members attacked Madha Ravi and his family while they were returning from Rajamahendravaram to Madhurapudi with knife and sticks. Ravi died on the spot and another four members of his family were seriously injured. Kollapu Veeraju (40) died in hospital while undergoing treatment, police said.

A complaint has been lodged at Korukonda police station and a hunt has been launched to nab the culprits, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (Urban) J Kulashakar.
