Woman Commits Suicide Due To Husband And In-Laws Harassment

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fam in her house on Friday night in Miyapur. The incident came to light after her parents found her hanging on Saturday.

Gowtami was married to Veerender Keerthi Babu in March 2017. Two weeks after marriage, Veerender and his mother started harassing her. Unable bear the torture, Gowtami returned to her parents' home on Thursday night and told them about the harassment. When her parents spoke to Veerender, he threatened to divorce Gowtami.

Depressed over marriage life, Gowtami took the extreme step when her parents were out for some work. Based on a complaint from her father, the police registered a case and are trying to nab her husband and mother-in-law who went absconding on learning Gowtami's suicide.
