YSRCP Leaders Court Arrest Over Tungabhadra Water

Anantapur: Several leaders of YSR Congress Party courted arrested here on Saturday demanding release of irrigation water for Tungabhadra ayacut.

The leaders were demanding the state government to release water for the ayacut to help the farmers in the region. On Saturday, as the party workers were preparing to forcefully release the irrigation water for the ayacut, the local police placed them under house arrest.

Among those arrested included YSRCP senior leaders such as Ananata Venkatrami Reddy, Gurnatha Reddy and Padmavathi. Police also arrested few Communist party leaders who lent their support YSRCP on the issue.
