YSRCP Intensifies Fight For SCS To AP

Vijayawada: The YSRCP called for a dharna in all the district collectorates across the state in an effort to intensify its relentless fight for achieving special category status for Andhra Pradesh. In response to the call given by YSR Congress party chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, party workers, leaders, and also the public gathered at the party office in Vijayawada to lay siege to the sub-collectrate office.
Speaking to Sakshi reporter Chandrakanath, YSRCP Party leader S. Udayabhanu said that instead of cooperating and lending support, the TDP regime is creating roadblocks to disturb peaceful protest. "Chandrababu Naidu is an accused in the note for vote scam and because of his ulterior motive he has mortgaged the interests of the state and settled for a special package instead of SCS. Though we sought prior permission for the dharna, the TDP has put police bandobust to stop the peaceful dharna. These cheap tactics shows what Chandraabu can do. But let me remind him that no matter what he tries to do to suppress, the AP people will continue to fight for achieving SCS, which is the lifeline of the state."

Similarly, another party leader said that for the past four years the AP leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been waging a lone fight for special status to the state. On the other hand the TDP is only finding ways to weaken the momentum.
Apart from laying siege to all the 13 district collectorates today, the YSRCP has also staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar in the national capital Delhi on March 5.
YSRCP general secretary T Raghuram said that on March 3, the YSRCP MPs will go to New Delhi for attending the Parliament Budget session. They will meet the party chief in Prakasam district, Raghuram informed. YS Jagan will flag off the bus carrying the MPs, who will impress upon the Parliament to give SCS to AP.
