YSRCP Demands Transparency In Funding For Capital City 

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded the Chandrababu Naidu government to make public the allocation of funds in the annual budget for building the capital city and the details of amounts received from the Centre for the purpose.

Speaking to press reporters here on Thursday party spokesperson K Parthasarathi said, "Chandrababu Naidu has been cheating people in the name of new capital city and foundation stone was laid for it on seven occasions and designs were changed at his whims and fancies thereby spending money lavishly on unproductive means".

"The foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on one occasion, Union Minister Arun Jaitley on another, Singapore leaders on one occasion and Chandrababu Naidu family had done it once and the state government is now preparing to lay the foundation again during the Dasara festival. Each time the foundation stone function is held, public money is spent lavishly and the extravaganza has no proper justification," Parthasarathi said.

During the division of the State, it was assured that the Centre would give all financial assistance for building the government infrastructure like Secretariat, Assembly and Council buildings, High Court and other such buildings. "We demand that the government announce how much money was given by the Centre so far and what is the amount earmarked in the budget for the building of capital city for which foundation stone is scheduled to be laid on Dasara", he said.
