YS Jagan’s Key Statement On Arogya Sri: Any Treatment Of Over Rs 1000 To Be Brought Under Scheme

YS Jagan at Kadiri - Sakshi Post

In a significant announcement, Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday said that every disease whose treatment cost exceeds Rs 1000 would be brought under the purview of the Arogya Sri scheme.

Addressing a public meeting at the Parthasarathy Colony in Kadiri town of Anantapur on Saturday as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan said that all surgeries for the poor would be made completely free. He said the Government would extend financial assistance to the family of the patient during his recuperation period and for those suffering from chronic ailments, a pension of Rs 10000 would be given. He also gave an assurance that Arogya Sri would be extended to all major hospitals in the country.

Recalling that late YSR's Arogya Sri was a game-changer, he said that as his son, he would go two steps ahead and further widen the net for beneficiaries, in terms of the scheme’s coverage.

He said under the Chandrababu Naidu regime, Arogya Sri is not applicable if one gets treated in Hyderabad. If a patient seeks treatment for cancer, Hyderabad is the only place. But a patient cannot get treated under Arogya Sri as Hyderabad is in Telangana. He said the Government was not paying the Arogya Sri bills to the network hospitals, due to which the hospitals are refusing to treat Arogya Sri patients.
