YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Prays for Hanumanthappa's Speedy Recovery

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party president and leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday prayed for the speedy recovery of the army jawan Hanumanthappa who was retrieved after being buried in snow for six days in Siachen glacier.

He was one of the nine jawans who were stranded in an avalanche in Siachen glacier last week. In a miraculous way, Hanumanthappa survived the tragic incident while other eight army men died. He has been undergoing treatment at Delhi's army hospital since Tuesday. However, the jawan's health is stated to be critical.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the hospital on Tuesday and spent 10 minutes with the soldier. He inquired about his condition from doctors and medical staff. “No words are enough to describe the endurance and indomitable spirit of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. He is an outstanding soldier,” Modi said.
