YS Jagan Demands Chandrababu’s Resignation for Failing to Achieve Special Status

Clarion Call for Special State Status - Sakshi Post

Slamming Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s inaction in fighting for the Special Category Status due to the compromises made to wriggle out of the Cash for Vote Scam, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday demanded that Chandrababu resign from the post of chief minister and apologise to the people of the state.

Talking to media persons here on Friday, YS Jagan took on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and asked him why was there so much hype over the announcement. He also asked where was the need for announcing it in dead of the night. He said nothing new has been given to the State in the form of Special Package. “The Central Government is giving all those that have already been given in the AP Reorganistion Act.

Nothing new has been given to the State in the form of Special Package. “The Central Government is giving all those that have already been given in the AP Reorganistion Act.

Terming this has an anti-climax, he said he was surprised as to what made Chandrababu to welcome the package. The IIMs, IITs and Central Universities are nothing out of the way. Every state has these prestigious institutions. Even in the devolutions and addressing the post-devolution revenue deficit, no special favours were done to Andhra Pradesh.

Contending that the 14th Finance Commission did not oppose special category status and has only removed the distinction between Special Category State and non-Special Category Status post devolution, he said even the Centre bearing the cent per cent cost of Polavaram project is nothing new. He said it is in the Section 90 of the AP Reorganisation Act.

He called upon the people to come out in large number and support the bandh call given by the YSRCP on Saturday. He called upon the people to support the bandh as it is a now or never battle.
