At a time when the politicians in the country have forgotten that they are trustees of the public money, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath has set a new example by distributing schoolbags with Akhilesh Yadav's photo. Of late, the news has become a hot topic.

It is obvious that any new government that assumes charge would change away the names of the welfare schemes for popularity.

But, with a view to not to waste the public money, Yogi directed the officials to distribute the school bags. According to reports, Bareilly district alone had over 35,000 schoolbags locked in the storeroom for distribution.

Soon after the previous Samajwadi Party government had announced last year that it would distribute over 1.5 crore school bags to the students of class I to VIII in government schools, the Education department recieved the bags and as the model code of conduct came into effect in January the bags are not supposed to be distributed. So officials had to lock the bags in the store rooms.

Subsequently, Uttar Pradesh went to polls and Akhilesh Yadav had lost elections to the Bharata Janata Party.

Besides the then CM Akhilesh Yadav's photo, the bags carry tag lines 'khoob pado, khoob badho' (study well and progress well) umeedho ka pradesh (Uttar Pradesh, a state of hope).

Yogi has been in news for some wrong reasons. But after his decision to distribute bags bearing Akhilesh's photo by dropping ego, he is being lauded for his selfless act.
