Hyderabad: An Indian woman working as an account in Dubai gave the slip to her husband at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday evening.

The RGIA police said Abhinav Kumar and his wife Kushbu, 30, landed at the Shamshabad airport from Dubai at 4 pm on Friday. They were supposed to move from the international terminal to the domestic one to board a Kolkata-bound flight, scheduled to take off at 6 pm.

"After coming out of the international terminal, they wanted to have coffee. Kushbu told her husband to place an order and, in the meanwhile, she will visit the wash room and return,'' RGI Airport sub-inspector V Srinivas said.

She did not return and when the husband tried calling her but found her phone switched off.

After searching and waiting for several hours, he approached the RGIA police, who began their investigation by surveying the CCTV footage. "Kushbu was seen hailing a car and move out of the premises. When the cab driver was called, he informed us that she got down at Lakdikapul. We are yet to trace the missing woman,'' the officer said.

However, police discovered that Kushbu escaped from the airport premises on her own free will.

Police suspect that she may have boarded a train at the Nampally railway station. The couple, both from Kolkata, got married in January 2016 and were working as accountants in different financial companies in Dubai, police said.
