Woman Drinks Acid To End Life After Husband Turns Thief

Noida: An upset 30-year old woman, Kavita, committed suicide by swallowing a poisonous substance on Monday evening here. As per the Noida Sector 49 police, the woman was depressed over her husband's alleged involvement in a theft case.

Arun Kumar Singh, SP, Gautam Buddh Nagar, said, "Based on a complaint, victim's husband, Sattan, was arrested by the police and brought to police station on Sunday night. The woman, on Monday morning, came to the police station and started arguing with police saying that her husband is innocent but when police told her that the stolen mobile phone and other valuables have also been recovered from her husband, she went back to her home."

Kavita reportedly could not come to terms that her husband, Sattan, resorted to theft and came back to the police station after some time. "She fell unconscious while talking to her husband. The police immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was admitted for the treatment but died on Tuesday morning," Singh added.

The police confirmed that Kavita consumed a poisonous substance after the autopsy report was delivered. They suspect the woman to have consumed acid to end her life.
