Woman Commits Suicide On First Wedding Anniversary 

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide on her first wedding anniversary regretting her marriage with six-year lover on Saturday in Begumpet in the city. Bhagyalakshmi was an employee at a central government organization and her husband Sashi, a resident of Karmanghat, is a software engineer at Google.

According to the deceased's parents, Sashi harassed her for dowry after marrying her last year and also blackmailed her by threatening to share her nude pictures and videos online if she did not give him all her salary.

The couple was in love for six years before getting married but clashes erupted within six months after marriage.

The woman earlier lodged a complaint with the police and he was counselled by the police sometime in November last year. However, he was not living with her after the incident but used pressurize her for dowry if she wanted him to live with her.

Saturday being their first wedding anniversary, she expected the husband to turn up, but was upset when he didn't. In her suicide note, Bhagyalakshmi cautioned the girls to be aware of such rogues who torture wives for money even if it is a love marriage.

Further, the woman said her husband Sashi, Manjula, Bhaskar and Ramani mentally tortured her. "He should not be allowed to touch my body or my belongings. They bribed the Begumpet police not to take action on my complaint. Sorry mommy, daddy, Shiva," she wrote.

Begumpet police are investigating the case.
