Woman Commits Suicide, Husband Booked For Harassment

Hyderabad: Swetha (32), an employee of JPMorgan Chase committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her house in Ramgopalpet area on Sunday following a quarrel with her husband Srikanth.

Ramgopalpet inspector P Murali Krishna said, “The couple had a heated argument on Saturday night. After quarrel she went and locked herself up in the bedroom. The next day Srikanth opened the latch only to find Swetha hanging from the ceiling fan.”

The parents of deceased alleged that their daughter died only because of the harassment by Srikanth and his family members for money.

"There are injury marks on her hands and she has not hanged herself. We want justice," said Swetha's parents, adding that Sriknath used to run a photo studio and was not earning properly. The couple got married 12 years ago and has two daughters.

A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Srikanth. Further investigation is on.
