Wife Complains Against IRS Officer Over Dowry Harassment
Hyderabad: An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer was arrested on Tuesday by the Jubilee Hills police from his residence after his wife filed a complaint against him of dowry harassment. The victim K. Sravani lodged a complaint on April 14. The accused K. Vamsi Krishna who was posted in Delhi came to the city on leave.

Jubilee Hills ACP N. Murali said that the IRS officer applied for a bail and was later released. The official added that as it's a matrimonial dispute the couple was sent for counseling. The victim said that her in-laws including her husband harassed her for additional dowry.
A criminal case has been booked against eight persons from Vamsi's side of relations including him. They were booked under sections 498-A, 420, 354 of the IPC and 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
