Wee hour van-lorry collision leaves 4 dead, 3 hurt

In a tragic incident, an Omni van rammed into an oncoming lorry with cement load near Sankepalli in Mudigubba mandal of Anantapur district in the wee hours of Saturday. four persons - all travelling in the van died on the spot. Three others suffered critical injuries. The impact of the collision was so great that the front portion of the van was left badly mangled.

The ill-fated travellers were all from Gangavathi in Karnataka and were returning after having a darshan of Lord Venkateswara. The accident occured at around 3 AM. The police rushed to the spot on coming to know of the mishap and shifted the injured persons to the nearest hospital.
