Vijayamma to meet Pranab with 1,56 crore signatures

YSR Congress Party  honorary president YS Vijayamma is scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday evening.

Vijayamma would call on the President at 6.15 pm  with the signatures collected from the people registering their protest against the unlawful arrest of party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

She will be accompanied by several MPs, MLAs and MLCs to Delhi. Elected representatives of the party held an emergency meeting in the morning to discuss on the matter to be represented to the President.

Talking to reporters, Vijayamma said the 'Jagan Kosam Janam Santhakam' campaign has got an overwhelming response.

She said that 1.96  crore people had signed the petition.. 'Due to lack of time, we will submit only 1,56 crore signatures to Pranab Mukherjee on a CD", she added.

Vijayamma hoped that her son YS Jagan would come out from jail soon with people's blessings. She said that it was the first time in history to collect this many signatures for one person.
