TV Anchor Pradeep Booked For Drunk Driving After New Year Bash 

Hyderabad: The party mongers of the city had a blast on the New Year's Eve before ushering in the new year 2018. While some people confined themselves to their homes for a quiet celebrations, the high-spirited ones rang in the new year at the city’s pubs and bars.

Despite strict orders against driving under the influence, over 1,200 people were caught driving in an inebriated state. "Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels in some people even showed 200 which is very dangerous," the Hyderabad traffic police said.

Popular Telugu TV anchor Pradeep was among those booked for drunken driving at Road No. 45, Banjara Hills. A case was booked against him and his car was seized by the police.

BAC level above 30 is considered serious for drivers, but Pradeep’s alcohol level showed an alarming 178 when the traffic police administered the check. Police said this was a serious case and he will have to face a trial at the court. In some cases, courts award 1-2 days of simple imprisonment but in a few others the jail term may extend up to six months.
