Tirupati-Bound Meghana Bus Catches Fire On Highway, Passengers Stranded  

Hyderabad: Around 50 passengers bound for Tirupati in Meghana Travels bus have been stranded at an unknown place with the bus catching fire at midnight on Thursday. The bus left the city at around 7pm on Wednesday and was scheduled to reach Tirupati at 7am on Thursday.

Passengers noticed the smoke emanating from the rear side of the bus at around 1am and alerted the crew. The bus was stopped and passengers jumped out to safety. Except for a milestone indicating 1km to Acchayapalli, no one knew where they were stranded. The driver or the conductor of the bus were also unable to explain the situation. When passengers tried to contact the management of Meghana Travels, there was no response.

The stranded passengers include small children and the old and there was no alternative arranged till the time of posting this news - 9am.
