This Sadhu Propagates Attainment of Wealth, Not Mukti

Meerut: He goes by the sobriquet ‘Golden Baba’. That is because at any given time this holy man adorns over 12 kgs of gold that includes chains, lockets and rings.

His followers estimate that the gold on him is worth over Rs 4 crore. That would easily put any jewellery showroom to shame! The Baba believes gold symbolises Goddess Lakshmi and that all his gold collection is given by God. He makes it a point to stress that he is not wearing the gold to show off his wealth.

The Baba’s entourage includes 10 bodyguards, convoy of vehicles for followers, pantry car, vehicles to carry tents and other belongings.

Currently, the Baba is on Kanwar Yatra on the outskirts of Meerut and everywhere he goes he easily attracts the attention of the people. While some of them intend to seek blessings of the Baba, most others want to have a close-up view of his gold jewellery.

During the Yatra, the ‘golden Baba’ rides atop a luxury SUV with 10 bodyguards while leading a convoy of vehicles. The convoy is escorted by local police whenever it passes throught their jurisdiction. The question often asked is, where does the Baba get all his gold from? Its from money donated by his followers.
