Hyderabad: CID officials in the EAMCET-2 question paper leak case have reached Nalgonda and are currently questioning the relatives and friends of the middleman Thirumal Rao.

The officials are questioning two students and their families on how they were able to procure the question paper from a middleman situated in Khammam. They have already quizzed suspects from Miryalaguda, Suryapet and Kodad including Thirumal’s son.

Based on call data around 300 people could have purchased the paper, which also indicates another middleman presence who was involved in the preparing the students to write the exam while the records clearly indicate that Thirumal Rao acted as a middleman between the parents and the main accused in the case Rajagopal Reddy and he might have sold the papers first to his relatives and friends.

Officials have been able to track down 25 students from Nalgonda district based on Thirumal’s call records who in turn are his relatives, according to the officials Thirumal would charge anything between 20-40 lakhs from the each parent, then he would send these students and parents to Bengaluru for a meet up with Rajagopal Reddy and to prep the students for the exam.

As the investigation widens, more and more number of people are involved in the leak case which include distance education centres, teachers and liquor businessman, all from Nalgonda district.

Officials are concentrating on Kodad’s link to earlier cases while Miryalaguda ran a fake certification case.

CID is also on the look-out for two Delhi-based suspects, identified as Iqbal and Naushad for whom, airport authorities have been put on alert as they could flee the country. The officials are investigating the duo to see if they are involved in similar offences.
