Telugu states to witness maximum temperatures this year - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department, for the first time, issued a summer forecast for the months April to June. According to it many states in central and northwest parts of India, including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are to experience heat wave like conditions.

The department notes that the seasonal temperatures would be above normal by more than one degree.

Core heat wave zone covers states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajastan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Telangana and met subdivisions of Marathwada, Vidharbha, Madhya Maharashtra and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The IMD attributes this above normal temperatures to the strong El-Nino conditions over the Pacific Ocean that began in 2015 and are still continuing.
