High Court Grants Anticipatory Bail To Chevalla MP

Konda Vishweshwar Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Congress leader Konda Vishweshwar Reddy was offered anticipatory bail by the High Court on Monday. The court instructed him to submit sureties from two people at Rs 25,000 each and sought his cooperation throughout the investigation.

A case was filed against Vishweshwar Reddy in Banjara Hills Police Station for allegedly locking up policemen who came to serve notices to him after he was found hoarding large amounts of cash to be distributed to voters during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

The Chevella MP approached the Nampally court for an anticipatory bail in the particular case. However, it refused to grant him the bail. Then he approached the High Court for relief.

He said he was being targeted by his political rivals, who were peddling lies by filing false cases against him. It may be recalled that he had switched allegiance to Congress party from TRS before the Assembly polls in December citing differences with the top leadership of the pink party.
