This Khairatabad Candidate Has Contested 7 Times in Elections

Hyderabad:  Shabad Ramesh runs a grocery store in the Khairatabad neighborhood. However, he has been grabbing the headlines and making news after he filed his nomination papers from the Khairatabad Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections. He is not a rookie in the game though, this is the seventh time he is contesting elections.

Ramesh said: “I have been continuously contesting for the last seven times including in the bye-elections. I contest every time in the hope that I will get a chance to play my part to help people.”

He added that the present day politicians had done no good to improve the conditions in the constituency. “I wish people would get fed up and give a chance to independent candidates for the betterment of many basic facilities in the locality.”

Ramesh reaches out to people personally, and distributes his manifesto flyers. He added I cannot afford to run mega campaigns like other politicians do. Ramesh secured 1,000 and 1,500 votes in the past which fell to 108 in 2014. He said, I will act to fill the void between people and the local administration, address the concerns of people to officers and getting them redressed.

The main battle in Khairatabad this time is between former minister Danam Nagender from the TRS and TPCC spokesperson Sravan Dasoju. The rebel from Congress Rohin Reddy is also all set to contest as an independent.
