Harish Rao To Join Congress Ahead Of Telangana Elections, Claims Ex-MLA

Medak: At a time when allegations are flying thick and fast and rumours mills are working overtime, with Telangana Assembly elections 2018 closing in on us, political parties are gearing up to show their full strength to woo the average voter. While all major parties in the State are yet to launch their full-fledged campaigns, leaders of parties are taking their comments to outlandish levels.

In a latest, senior Congress leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy, who is all but set to fight caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in his home constituency Gajwel, is at the centre of a sensational debate over the political future of senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Harish Rao. Pratap Reddy launched a new debate over Harish's lack of interest in serving the TRS anymore.

Stating that the caretaker Irrigation minister was in talks with Congress President Rahul Gandhi over a possible switch to the national party, the former Gajwel MLA said irrespective of time and context, anything could happen in politics. The infighting in the TRS party reached a new high and Harish Rao is keen on joining the Congress in the current circumstances, he added.

Meanwhile, political analysts cite Harish Rao's unhappiness over the rumoured swapping of constituencies with KCR in the upcoming elections. It may be recalled that Harish Rao hinted at retiring from politics during a meeting with the voters in his constituency last month. Although the speculation was unconfirmed by the four-time Siddipet MLA, signs of dissatisfaction within the party were apparent.
