TRS Manifesto For Telangana Elections: What To Expect

Hyderabad:With the Telangana caretaker chief minister and TRS party supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao lending final touches to the party's election manifesto, the party is gearing up to release the manifesto this afternoon at 2:30 PM. The manifesto will be released at a press conference after the Manifesto Committee meeting to be held in the Telangana Bhavan.

The 15-member TRS Manifesto Committee headed by senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao has already met several people from different walks of life, including public policy organisations, councils, welfare organisations and intelligentsia and have factored their suggestions and recommendations into account while drafting the TRS manifesto. The committee has met on a few occasions since its inception on September 6th. KCR has personally looked into key policy pointers. The plan was to release some important aspects of the Manifesto during the Dusshera Navaratri period.

Some of the key aspects in the manifesto include :

Unemployment allowance for youth,
Implementation of welfare schemes
Increase in pension amount for widows, senior citizens and the disabled, woman beedi workers and the physically challenged.
Financial assistance for those who want to build houses
Continue construction of 2 bedroom flats
3 acre land allotment for Dalits
Loan waivers for farmers

As part of the current pension scheme ,senior citizens, widows & women beedi workers get Rs 1000 and the physically handicapped get Rs 1500. The main focus of the manifesto would be to either double this amount or increase it marginally.

The other new aspect is to provide financial support to people who want to build houses apart from the Telangana 2-bedroom scheme which is already implemented.

TRS also proposes to provide financial support and employment to various communities. If anybody does not get a job or is unable to secure employment, the party plans to provide unemployment benefits.
