Congress Finalises 30 Candidates For Assembly Polls

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is currently going through exciting times with the enthusiasm over the candidates to contest in the upcoming elections. The Election Committee of the Congress on Tuesday evening convened a meeting at the Golconda Resorts to discuss the contestants. It is learnt that three sub-committees were given a responsiblity to filter the names of candidates for 40 constituencies each. The sub-committee headed by AICC Secretary Bosuraju, Saleem Ahmed and Srinivasa Krishnan made a list of 6 candidates in each of their 40 constituencies. Congress Telangana State Affair In-charge RC Khuntia, TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, Election Campaign Committee Chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Core Committee members Jana Redy, Shabbir Ali, senior leaders Ponnal Lakshmaiah and V Hanumanth Rao were present while party working president Revanth Reddy and AICC Secretary Madhu Yashki Goud were absent to the meeting.

Konda Surekha To Contest From Parkal

The committee has decided to consider the candidacy of former MLA Konda Surekha, who had recently re-joined the party after differences with the TRS leadership arose due to the denial of party ticket to her. Along with working president Ponnam Prabhakar, Women's Congress President Nerella Sharada's name is under consideration for the Karimnagar Assembly constituency.

According to reliable sources, these names would be suggested for final consideration of the Congress leadership in the following constituencies:
