Owaisi Challenges Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh To Contest From Telangana

Asaduddin Owaisi and Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi questioned Chandrababu Naidu's decision to sail with the Congress in the forthcoming Telangana elections. Owaisi assailed the TDP supremo for betraying the ideals of the party and reminded him that TDP was a political entity which was born out of anti-Congressism. Asaduddin Owaisi was speaking to a local television channel when he made these observations.

The AIMIM leader asked Chandrababu Naidu how he allied himself with the BJP till very recently and then started gravitating towrds the Congress.

Owaisi challenged Chandrababu Naidu to try his luck and contest in Hyderabad if wanted to test his strength. He could even try fielding Lokesh, to test his mettle in the twin cities and Telangana, the AIMIM chief said. The outcome would prove to be an eye-opener to them, he added. He also said that when Chandrababu could do nothing for Andhra Pradesh, it was clear that he could do very little for Telangana.

The Hyderabad MP said that a Karnataka-like situation was unlikely to develop in Telangana. He predicted that the caretaker Telangana chief minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao would emerge as the winner in the upcoming assembly polls. He added that the Congress was likely to lose even more heavily in the assembly elections owing to its alliance with the TDP.

Owaisi was also hopeful of the MIM's improved performance in the polls. The party was basically interested in the welfare of minorities, and where MIM candidates were pitted against TRS, they would put up a determined fight, he clarified.
