TRS To Seek Disqualification Of D Srinivas From Rajya Sabha
Nizamabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party is learnt to be planning to take action against their rebel leader, Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas, after reports over his preparations to join the Congress party. According to reports, the TRS party is willing to move disqualification charges against the veteran politician in Rajya Sabha. In July, several leaders from the party complained to the TRS top leadership over D Srinivas's alleged anti-party activities.
D Srinivas's membership in the Upper House will expire in 2022. In a recent press conference, the MP demanded the party suspend him for his actions. If the allegations made against me were true, I demand they be proved, he added. In this regard, the TRS leaders are collecting evidence to move a disqualification charge.
Speaking on D Srinivas's future in the party, caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), on September 6, the day of dissolution of the Telangana Assembly, said that no decision was taken in the matter. Recently, another heavyweight leader from Nizamabad district, former Speaker Suresh Reddy had announced his decision to join the TRS.
