Hyderabad: The arrangements for Telangana Rashtra Samithi's (TRS) massive public meetingm, 'Pragati Nivedana Sabha' on September 2, are underway in a fastrack mode. The TRS leaders have set for themselves, a target of mobilising over 25 lakh people to the meeting's location in Kongara Kalan in Ibrahimpatnam Mandal. It is learnt that people in more than 10,000 vehicles from each of the erstwhile 10 districts in the State are expected to attend the meet. Also, the TRS has booked over 7,000 RTC buses to mobilize the party workers and supporters, adding a revenue of Rs 10 crore to the State-run transport body.

Officials have made arrangements at the 17 toll gates across the State, to avoid any kind of traffic inconvenience to the normal public. Additional traffic police personnel have been deployed to ensure ease of traffic at the toll gates. However, it is unknown whether the vehicles heading to the Pragati Nivedana Sabha would pay the toll tax or not.

Demand For Diesel Deepens

In view of the high number of vehicles heading to the State capital, owners of the fuel stations across the districts have stepped up to cash in on the demand. A total of one lakh vehicles are expected to carry 25 lakh people to Kongara Kalan, while ministers, MLAs, ZPTCs, MPTCs, Sarpanches and their supporters are expected to arrive at the meeting in another 2,000 vehicles.
