TDP Chooses CM Ramesh, Ravindra Kumar For RS Polls

Amaravati: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has selected its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. The party's top leadership has finalised sitting Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh and Legal Cell President Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar as its nominees, said a media statement released by the party. It is learnt that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has held discussions with the party senior leaders in this regard.

At one stage, there was speculation that the party has finalised the names of CM Ramesh and senior leader Varla Ramaiah. In a late twist, the party has announced the name of Ravindra Kumar for the Upper House. With this announcement, Varla Ramaiah was highly disappointed, it is learnt.
